Greg Coticchia Chief Executive Officer, Principal Consultant
Entra is led by Greg Coticchia, an award-winning technology executive with over twenty-five years experience in high tech products and services. He is considered by many to be one of the best strategic minds and marketing executives in the technology business. He has lead or been a major contributor in two of the largest and most successful software companies in the world, LEGENT (now CA) and AXENT (now Symantec). Recently, as CEO and co-founder of eBillingHub, he grew the company from inception to establishing it in a leading market position that led to its sale to Thomson Reuters. Greg has been in ten start-ups and founded two, and has held executive positions for better than two-thirds of his career, participating in various size organizations, from '$0M to over $1B' in revenue. He has participated in raising over $49M in venture capital in his career, and has actively participated in over seventeen mergers and acquisitions, at both the company or product level. In the last 15 years the companies that Mr. Coticchia has participated in have netted ‘exit’ valuations of 8X revenue on average, and 16X the investment on average.
He has served as CEO (three times), President and COO of several successful start-up companies, and has been involved or responsible for the launch of over 100 products and solutions, and several companies. His publications and presentations on marketing strategy and product management have recognized as both visionary and thought provoking by leaders in the technology business. Greg has served on many boards (including NFR, Four Rivers and others), assisting senior management with strategic planning and other critical initiatives, and has been recognized for his work and contribution in his service to these organizations.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in Industrial Engineering, where he also received his MBA, he currently teaches both business-to-business marketing and entrepreneurial leadership at the University Of Pittsburgh Katz School Of Business. He also attained certificates in Entrepreneurial Management form Carnegie Mellon University and in Professional Coaching from Duquesne University. In addition to his many recognitions and awards from the businesses he has served, Coticchia was named as a finalist three times for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and for the Tech 50 CEO of the Year. Additionally, he was named a 2006 Distinguished Graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Katz School of Business.
Alan Himler
Alan Himler Principal Consultant
As Principal Consultant with ENTRA, Alan provides a unique perspective on helping customers with their overall direction. He brings over 20 years of experience in product management and marketing, having served as a CEO twice (LogicLibrary, Emprise) and in several executive level positions with growing software and technology companies (61C, LEGENT, NCR). Alan is known for his sharp insight to difficult business challenges and his results oriented/actionable style to taking on business issues.
Most recently, Alan was CEO of LogicLibrary, where he led the enterprise software company to a dominate position in design time SOA governance. Alan then led the sale of the company to SOA Software in 2008. Before LogicLibrary Alan was vice president of marketing at 61C, an intelligent routing start-up. Prior to 61C, he was president and COO of Emprise Technologies, where he led the marketing and development efforts for 'eScan' the company?s first internally developed Internet security product. Himler was also director of product management for Legent Corporation, now a part of Computer Associates. Among his accomplishments at Legent, Alan introduced a product rollout plan that became a company standard.
Alan received a bachelor of arts degree in business from St. Vincent College and a Masters of Business Administration from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
Craig Drinkhall Principal Consultant
Craig Drinkhall is a Principal Consultant with ENTRA. An experienced Product Management & Business Development leader, as well as thought leading technologist and developer, he was most recently Senior Vice President of Business and Product Development at Ascent Data which provides data center collocation, managed hosting, maintenance services, and business continuity solutions in a secure, resilient, state-of-the-art SAS 70 Type II data center in Western Pennsylvania. Prior to Ascent, Craig was Craig M. Drinkhall was Senior Vice President Product Development and Engineering at TelCove, now Level3 Communications, where he was responsible for Product Development, Engineering, Marketing and Communications, Customer Relations Management, and Sales Channel Partnerships. Mr. Drinkhall joined TelCove in December 2000 as Director of Data Services. He then served as TelCove's Senior Director of Product Development, during which time he also assumed the role of Director of Information Technology. As Senior Vice President Product Development and Engineering, Mr. Drinkhall has overseen the launch of several key products for TelCove: TelCove's Metro Area and Intercity Ethernet Services, Remote Access VPN Services, the addition of OC-192 and 10G wavelength services, and several other product enhancements. He was also a key driving force in the successful completion of TelCove's IP Backbone and its ATM/Frame Relay and Long Distance networks. Mr. Drinkhall held several distinct positions with various corporations, which deepened his background in product/life-cycle management in telecommunications and software technologies and supplied a proven track record in building partnerships and launching products to sales channels. He led his own Internet applications company, BurbNet, Inc. as President and CEO. Prior to BurbNet, Mr. Drinkhall served as Director of Business Development & Product Marketing and held the position of General Manager for the Network Integration Business at Computerm Corporation. Mr. Drinkhall also developed a strong telecommunications background holding various key positions while employed at ACS, Inc. A 1982 Pennsylvania State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mr. Drinkhall is a strategic thinker accustomed to adopting and implementing corporate strategies to promote company growth and expansion
